Discussion of movement and documentation issues on Abkhazian and South Ossetian Territories
On October 7, Business and Economic Centre hosted a meeting with participation of representatives of the civil society and the government. During the meeting the following issues were discussed:

•    Preparing ID cards and other documents for citizens living on occupied territories;
•    Movement of people and good on administrative borders;
•    Georgian-Abkhazian and Georgian-Ossetian cooperation on economic issues;
•    Neutral documentation;

The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Civil Registry Agency, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Office of State Minister for Reintegration and Parliament’s Temporary Commission on Territorial Integrity Issues; also the representatives of non-governmental organizations. The meeting was held in the frame of the ongoing project in BEC “the Dialogue between the Government of Georgia and Non-State Actors on Confidence Building with Abkhazian and Ossetian Society”.

During the meeting participants discussed and analyzed movement of people and good on administrative borders and problems related to this issue, also the preparation of different documents for citizens living on occupied territories. Separately was discussed the issue of neutral passports and the participants agreed to hold a meeting on documentation issues and the representatives of the government will make a special presentation for the civil society.

Next meeting in the frame of the project will be organized at the end of October.
