Archil Bakuradze
Chairman of BEC
Archil Bakuradze is the Chairman of Business and Economic Centre. He brings together expertise in Parliamentary affairs, institutional strengthening and economic policy from his various roles in the International Association of Business and Parliament having led the Association’s projects since 2004 in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and the Sultanate of Oman. He holds leadership positions on the Boards of several public and business institutions. For his contribution to Internally Displaced People, in 2003 he received the international award from the Dutch Refugee Foundation (Stichting Vluchteling). Archil Bakuradze holds an MBA degree from Lancaster University (UK); he is a Chevening scholar and fellow of the John Smith Memorial Trust (UK).
Tea Levidze
Executive Director
Tea Levidze holds the position of acting executive director iin the Business and Economic Centre and joined the team since January, 2009. She gained the similar experience while working with the OSCE Mission to Georgia and the Parliament of Georgia. She is responsible for the day-to-day administrative activities of the office, organizes meetings, takes minutes of the meetings and drafts reports, conducts research, provides written translation, assists the financial officer.
Tea Levidze holds the Bachelor’s Diploma in English Language and Literature from Tbilisi State University and Master’s Diploma in Public Administration from Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA).
Salome Asatiani
Research Officer
Salome Asatiani holds the position of the research officer in the Business and Economic Centre. Salome works in BEC since 2006. Her major job responsibilities include: working on the product and service development, network development; conducting economic research, preparing standard notes, enquires and other issues; preparing monthly Reports; publications, guidelines; relationships with Members of Parliament, Business Companies, media.
Salome holds Master Degree in Economics with concentration in international Economic Relations. She graduated Department of Economics at Tbilisi State University in 2005. She also holds Master Degree in Public Administration of Georgian Institute of Public Affairs and Master Degree of Agro-Business management in University of Gent, Belgium. At the moment Salome studies in International Black Sea University, where she takes Ph. D course. Salome is the author more than 10 publications and monograph, as well as the working papers of various universities.
Juba Maruashvili
Project Coordinator
Juba Maruashvili is the Project Coordinator of Business and Economic Centre. Since 2007 he leads the projects in the field of conflict resolution implemented by BEC with the support of Parliamentary Commission on Territorial Integrity Issues. In the frame of the project he established close partnership with Ossetian and Abkhazian entrepreneurs supported them to participate in different international exhibitions for promoting their products. His project aims fostering dialogue between civil society and the government on conflict issues, strengthening the role of business and public diplomacy in peace building process. In this direction he organized seminars and the conference with participation of all interested parties – government, NGOs and diplomatic missions. Juba Maruashvili holds Master’s degree in Politics and International Relations from University of Georgia and is active participant of several international projects organized by Tbilisi School of Political Studies (Strasbourg –Council of Europe; Sweden Uppsala University).
Levan Akhvlediani
Project Coordinator
Levan Akhvlediani graduated Tbilisi State University, departmentof Law. Since 2004 he has worked in different NGO’s. For the present Levan is working in the World Bank as consultant in “Youth Voice Georgia” project and in Business and Economic Centre as the project assistant. He participates in different projects, helps the centre with technical, legal and organisational issues. He has organized and participated in numerous youth projects.
Maya Baramidze
Financial Officer
Maya Baramidze joined BEC as financial officer after her job in the Enterprise and Parliament Dialogue International. She gained the large experience in financial operations, accounting and monitoring, financial management and reporting while working with International NGOs. She is certified Instructor of International Accounting Standards, as well as Technical expert for ACCA 3.5 paper - Strategic business planning and development (Georgian translation and publication of GFPAA – Georgian Federation of Professional Accountants and Auditors, 2003/04)
Maya Baramidze holds the diploma of economist. She has taken part in various international seminars in the areas of General Management, Sales and Marketing, general consulting skills, also in Short MBA program (CERMA, Georgia).
Nino Bejhanishvili
Administrative Assistant
Nino Bezhanishvili is the administrative assistant in Business and Economic Centre. Her main responsibilities include: participate in different projects, assists the office manager in administrative activities, assists in organizing meetings, take minutes of the meetings, provide written translations.
Nino worked for the Institute for Public Research to study opinion of the electorate of parliamentary elections 2008. She also participated in UN Project as the volunteer.
Nino Bejhanishvili holds the Bachelor’s Diploma in English Language and Literature from Tbilisi State University and Master’s Diploma in Public Administration from Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA).
