About the project
The project “Fostering Dialogue between the Government and non-state actors on Peaceful Resolution of Conflicts in Georgia” aims at increasing the participation of non-state actors in development of public policy on conflicts and supporting a consistent implementation of the peace process.

The achievement of this goal will produce the following impact:

•    Increased confidence of Abkhazian and South Ossetian communities towards Georgian society and Government which will be a precondition for durable settlement of the conflicts;
•    Increased the share of Georgian society with clear preference for resolving the conflict through peaceful means, which would create a stable demand on Government’s adequate peaceful policy;
•    Stronger guarantees for non-resumption of military activities which would have a positive impact on a business climate, growth of the inward and foreign direct investment and the economic development of Georgia. This will in turn put pre-conditions in place for the development of economic cooperation between the war-torn communities.

The project objectives are to:

•    Coordinate positions of NGOs, civil society groups and experts involved in peace building activities and shape coherent messages concerning the conflict resolution strategy;
•    Direct the flow of expertise from civil society through the establishment of a constructive and open dialogue between the Government and a representative group of the non-state stakeholders;
•    Create a well-articulated demand on peaceful policy on conflicts and improve the Government communication of this policy to the wider public.
